Worship Together - I Could Sing Of Your Love

The Best of Modern Worship, Worship Together is a recently released worship compilation album that started as one of the top sellers at Family Christian Stores.  However, the strong sales debut did not give an accurate picture of the compilation.  I have to tell you the truth, I was excited to receive my copy of the album.  But, was sadly disappointed with a few things.  First, I expected the album to be filled with studio song versions.  It wasn't made clear that the compilation mixes live and studio version songs.  But, I could have lived with that if one disc was all studio songs and the other was live sets.  Nope.  The songs are mostly live with a couple of studio versions sprinkled throughout the 2 CD set.  Secondly, there are only 23 songs on this 2 CD set.  If you break it down, that's only 11.5 songs per CD.  If you have ever bought a 2 CD set, you know that a 23 song compilation is not that generous.  Finally, I was not impressed with the song selections (live sets).  Some of the songs that were recorded live were not edited properly for release on a CD.  There is a song that actually starts with the end of a previous live set (at the concert) as it begins the intro portion.  In my opinion, Time Life and EMI put very little thought for consumer satisfaction into this worship compilation. 

On a positive note, a few of the live recordings were performed by some veterans like SonicFlood and Matt Redman.  They had me singing along and praising Jesus to the fullest.  So, I did some song editing with my own software and ripped the re-edited songs for my listening pleasure.
